11: Create Pages

Now it is time to start creating pages. When you go to the Add Page entry on the side bar there, you would likely have a word processor design layout. If you have Classic Editor plugin activated, you would be presented with a simpler form. Under the Visual option, you would see a very basic word processor style with just one row of options to change the text. This is ideal for those that don’t know XHTML. However, if you know basic XHTML, you would likely be willing to use the code option. If you enter code in the visual layout, you would not be making code, but the XHMTL code will show up on the page rather than any formatting. You must use the code layout if you wish to write code. You are welcomed to switch between the layouts.

Now, if your website is more than just a blog site, then you would want to create pages. You may want a home page for when people come to visit your site. In my instance, all of my home pages are named Welcome. This makes it easier to find this page, and gives something for the visitor to be introduced to. I will also consider creating a contact page. This page will have your public contact information, and make it easier for people to reach you. Obviously, this is information you would be OK with 8 Billion people knowing. If you don’t want 8 Billion people to know your telephone number, do not list it in the contact page.

If you are going to have a blog in addition to your regular site, you would want to create a blank page named blog. This will make sense later in this tutorial. Once you created all of the pages you would wish to create, it will be time to move on. Make sure you checked you spelling with all of your pages.
